Young Children's classes at Happy 2 Move are taught knowing that children learn best when they are moving and enjoying relating to people they care about in a multi-sensory, dynamic environment. This includes songs, rhymes, obstacle courses, props, musical instruments, etc. The Parent & Tot (for 2-3 year olds and a caregiver) the Music & Movement (for 3 year olds) and Small Fry Ballet (for 3-4 year olds). Classes are filled with engaging activities designed to develop large motor, verbal, musical as well as social skills. These are 45 minute classes
Preschool Dance & Kinderdace, are classes designed for 4/5 & 5/6 year olds respectively. Dancers continue developing the creative thinking model of all Happy 2 Move classes. We focus on exploring movement concepts in a creative manner while extending our work on developing pre-ballet and choreographic explorations that often center around story-telling. Kinderdance, allows the dancer the opportunity to continue creative concept exploration while developing stronger muscle groups through longer pre-ballet and skill development sections. We also begin to focus on music structure and its connection to choreography. Both are one-hour classes
Creative Modern, Ballet I & Jazz
In Creative Modern dancers ages 6-11 have fun exploring the creativity of movement and modern dance concepts while strengthening the body and brain and interacting with others! Skills become more challenging throughout the year and progress with agel level. This is a one-hour class.
Ballet I dancers (ages 6-7) will delve into the art of ballet and how it teaches expressivity, focus and self-discipline, awareness of body mechanics, alignment and musicality. The richness and depth that comes from using a conceptual and brain-compatible approach is what makes this program unique. This is a one-hour class.
Our Jazz class for dancers 6-9 years will present lively choreography and skill development that will draw its inspiration from the contemporary music of today and jazz greats of the past. An ever-changing art form, jazz reflects popular culture. Each week, students move across the floor and put steps together in combinations as they explore this unique American dance style.
